Acura EL Hatch Conversion?

I’m sure some of you have heard of the Canadian Acura EL:

Heres some front-end swaps on 3 Door Civics:

I saw one on the facebook group I’m part of for used honda parts, so I went to google to look for examples.

Not sure how I feel. Oppoinions?

It’s a mixed bad. I think that silver one looks awful, while the gold one looks fine. Maybe its angles.

I had a ‘96 hatchback, so I may be biased. I always thought they were one of the best looking cars in the 90’s as a hatch. Every thing is fluid. God I miss mine.

(Not mine, nor was mine a V-TEC. But it was black!)

The Canadian EL and CSX are awesome! The EL had orange gauges which are really cool! And I’d totally rock a CSX Type-S, a Civic Si with a bit more luxury and prestige thrown in!

The EL is very cool. One of my main friends I cruise with just got one. Manual 1.6 EL

We have matching Hoonigan stickers but haven’t met up since we bought them.

I also LOVE the CSX, my favoruite compact car by far is the ‘07 Type R, its easily one of my favoruite cars of all time.

It’s based off the Canadian-designed JDM Civic sedan, which is the Acura CSX. So if you take an Acura CSX Type S, do a little bit of engine work, and some cosmetic work, you got a Type R that easy.

I had a 99 Civic EX sedan(so mine did have V-TEC lol). I always thought the 96-98 front ends wear to bubbly, so if i had a 6th gen again that’s what I’d want, but they really are good looking cars. better than the EL/Domini IMO.

You know the current Acura ILX? It’s a Civic based entry level luxury car for Acura. Canada has already had a Civic-based luxury model since 1996. Starting with the EL. The 2nd Generation of EL was based off the 7th gen Civic:

And then more recently, the 8th Gen Civic (my civic) got the Acura CSX, name change was to fit with the TSX and MDX and all that:

The EL and CSX are both Canadian designed and only sold in certain countries. Canada, Japan (The EL was the Honda Domani, and the CSX was just the Civic in Japan. The Type R sedan is based off the CSX design) and Indonesia and stuff like that.
